Another Tear In Your Eye

Turn off the TV, another weekend’s gone by
It’s all been reflex no time to reject the lies
I’ve been thinking, no I’ve been sinking in mire so deep I can’t keep breathing
From tender moments we lost the hope that
Our time and place would not fall from grace

But truth laid treason to words that were said
No longer flowers only thorns in our bed
And I don’t want to see another tear in your eye

Through cloudless vision moon has a prisoner tonight
Eyes locked mind wanders, bleak thoughts heart thunders a sigh
Once so compelling now lost its thrill till dreams fade to pallor blue shades all hours
Words fail their meaning, replaced by scheming
Escape from nowhere, all’s lost yet play fair

But truth laid treason to words that were said
No longer flowers only thorns in our bed
And I don’t want to see another tear in your eye

Fears held back sacred, souls bared minds naked, we writhe
No more suppression, contempt expressed and love dies
No furtive glances, not one last chance ‘cause
the hurt aches so deep it’s the numbness we seek
there’s no returning, loss fuels the burning
all down in flames, only ashes remain

Truth laid treason to words that were said
No longer flowers only thorns in our bed
And I don’t want to see another tear in your eye

Pan-genre…Omni-groove…
Not young…Not pretty…

Craft honed across two millennia, not the undead, the experienced.

The progeny of Montreal and the Age of Aquarius, chameleon transients in time and space, consumed and were consumed, frivolous, rhythmic, the voice of the common in the complexity of the mundane.
